Today on Radio 4…!
April 29, 2008
Today on Radio 4, I’m guesting on Michael Rosen’s show “Word of Mouth” which is looking at comic books (natch). A couple of weekends ago Word of Mouth sent a roving reporter to interview Oli Smith in his natural habitat (Camden Market) and he kindly let myself and David Baillie tag along, so the BBC got a few words from us too! I don’t know whether I’ll end up with more than just a sound bite on the show or a good couple of minutes or so, tune in to find out! The show also includes interviews with Paul Gravett, Posy Simmonds, Anita O’Brien and Martin Rowson.
Radio 4, 92 – 95 FM / various digital methods at 4pm 29/04/08
If you miss the ‘live’ transmission, it’ll be available to stream on the show’s ‘Listen again’ page for the next 7 days
Comics news:
Last reminder… As part of the ICA and Paul Gravett’s continuing ComICA festival, there’s an event today (29 April) at the ICA in London at 8pm…
A screening and performance from Pakito Bolino of France’s Le Dernier Cri publishing house. A series of short animated films created by 30 artists, Les Religions Sauvages “devours the rotting meat of our civilisation, regurgitating it in a relentless bombardment of imagery,” which will, according to its creators, “purge, cleanse and purify our jaded, pornographic imaginations.” Bolino will be joining UK artists in a live improvised sound performance to accompany a DVD projection of the film.
If you’d like to know more about this event please go to www.paulgravett.com or ww.ica.org.uk…
