Today at 3.30pm on Resonance 104.4 FM… Lucky Cat: Asian cinema at the London Film Festival
Alex Fitch guest presents Lucky Cat, Resonance FM’s weekly radio show about Asian Culture; this week’s guest is Virginie Selavy, editor of cult and world cinema periodical Electric Sheep Magazine and they’ll be discussing this year’s selection of Korean and Japanese titles screening at the 56th BFI London Film Festival. Movies discussed include Korean crime dramas Nameless Gangsters and Helpless, portmanteau Sci-Fi apocalypse movie Doomsday Book and Miike Takashi’s reimagining of West Side Story – Ai to Makoto – as well as the 20th anniversary of classic Japanese body horror movie Tetsuo II: Body Hammer. Music in this week’s show includes classic OST tracks by the Pizzicato Five, RZA and Shonen Knife.
