George Hardie – Before and After: Coinciding with a career retrospective at University of Brighton Gallery, Alex Fitch talks to George Hardie about the influence of comics on his illustrations and design work for clients such as Pink Floyd. Alex and George discuss the appearance of characters such as Tintin and Popeye in the latter’s work and how ‘before and after’ images use the language of sequential art to add surrealism to everyday objects. The exhibition “George Hardie: 50 Odd Years” is on display at University of Brighton gallery, Grand Parade, Brighton until Friday April 7th.
