The monthly show about cult film and world cinema. Electric Sheep assistant editor Alex Fitch interviews a trio of independent film directors whose latest movies have premiered at recent festivals. At the London Sundance Film Festival, Alex talks to Miguel Arteta about his film Beatriz at Dinner, a drama about class conflict and environmentalism featuring John Lithgow and Salma Hayek, and to Michael Almereyda about his elegiac science-fiction movie Marjorie Prime adapted from the play of the same name and starring Lois Smith and Tim Robbins.

Plus: with translation by Jason Yu, Korean director Bong Joon-Ho discusses his latest film Okja, which proved controversial when screened at Cannes, and features Tilda Swinton and Jake Gyllenhaal in an uproarious tale of GM food. Alex and Bong also discuss Jon Ronson’s involvement in the film, the theme of man vs. nature running through his filmography including The Host and Snowpiercer plus Netflix’s funding of the movie. Featuring classic tracks by The Mamas and the Papas, Regina Spektor, James Taylor and Jimmy Cliff.

5.30pm Wednesday 21st June, repeated 6am Sunday 25th June 2017, Resonance 104.4 FM and DAB (London) / streamed at / podcast after broadcast at
