In a quartet of presentations by academics talking about their research into comics, this show looks at how sequential art is being investigated in Universities. Alex Fitch talks to Dr. Dominic Davies about his work on comics that explore inequality in the Global South, and to Barbara Chamberlin about her PhD on depictions of witches and haunted landscapes in comics which will include collaborations with artist JessicaMarlton. Also, M. J. Hibbert and Rob Fleay talk about and perform music from Marvel Cartoons of the 1960s, and Prof. Roger Sabin chats to the first researcher to pursue a doctorate in comics in the 1980s – David Huxley – about the changes in comics research over the last three decades, plus Huxey’s experiences as a cartoonist on such titles as Oink!…
